Mission
The Bike Unit is made up of four full-time bicycle officers and a sergeant; augmented by another 4 auxiliary bicycle officers. The full time Bike Unit is primarily assigned to the downtown plaza area and at the Railyard complex due to large pedestrian traffic. The unit can be quickly reassigned when needed for special events or targeted enforcement if a particular problem arises.
The Bike Unit also patrols and enforces the open space area throughout the year in the City of Santa Fe. The Bike Unit is dedicated to ensuring the safety of our natural resources and the safety of our city's visitors in these areas.
