Effective fire response starts with confidence. Our hands-on training program empowers participants to act safely and effectively during an emergency, ensuring compliance with NFPA 10 standards for portable fire extinguishers.
Core Training ObjectivesOur curriculum is designed to move beyond theory and provide practical skills in the following areas:
- Identifying Fire Classifications: Participants learn to quickly recognize different types of fires and the fuels involved.
- Extinguisher Selection: Understanding which agent to use for Class A, B, C, D, or K hazards to prevent spreading the fire.
- The PASS Method: A step-by-step mastery of the industry-standard technique:
- Pull the pin.
- Aim at the base of the fire.
- Squeeze the lever.
- Sweep from side to side.
- Critical Decision Making: Recognizing the "point of no return" and understanding when emergency evacuation is a safer alternative than attempting to fight a fire.
Fire and evacuation drills help ensure occupants know how to respond quickly and safely during an emergency.
Drill topics include:- Exit identification and evacuation routes
- Accountability and designated assembly areas
- Coordination with fire department response
- Special considerations for children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities
Age-appropriate school presentations introduce children to fire safety concepts in a fun and memorable way. Firefighters may demonstrate equipment, fire trucks, and protective gear to reduce fear and build understanding.
