Alarm Enforcement

The City of Santa Fe Governing Body adopted ordinance No. 2009-33 on July 9, 2009, an ordinance repealing Article 20-25 SFCC 1987 Maintenance and Installation of Alarm Devices and Systems and creating a new Article 20-5 SFCC 1987 regarding alarm systems, False Alarm Reduction, and making such other changes as are necessary effective October 2009.

In its implementation of the Ordinance, the City of Santa Fe decided to outsource to a contractor, CryWolf Alarm Administrative Services, to provide management of the alarm ordinance so that persons and organizations that use alarm systems can be held accountable for false alarms through an annual alarms system registration process and a system of penalty fees.
