Arroyo De Los Chamisos Crossing (Phases 1C and 1D Environmental and Preliminary Design)

Scope

This project is currently in environmental (Phase IC) and preliminary design (Phase ID), which are being performed simultaneously.  The project scope is a roadway connection of Richards Avenue from Rodeo Road to Cerrillos Road across the Arroyo de los Chamisos, which will require two major drainage crossing structures and a feasibility analysis of a third trail crossing structure.   

Schedule

Phase IC environmental documentation is expected to be in draft form by September 2023 and completed by December 2023.  Phase ID is expected to be complete by September 2023.  The final design (Phase II) and construction funding have not been identified at this time.

Arroyo de los Chamisos Crossing (Phase 1B Supplemental)

The City of Santa Fe conducted a virtual public meeting of the Arroyo de los Chamisos Crossing Study (CIP#876B) on December 5, 2022. The public meeting focused on the consideration of a proposed roundabout intersection at Camino del Prado and Richards Avenue, in addition to the Split-T intersection previously described in the Phase B report. 

A technical memo will summarize the findings of this public discussion for inclusion as a supplement to the Phase B report.

The City of Santa Fe is conducting a virtual public meeting on the Arroyo de los Chamisos Crossing Study (CIP#876B). The public meeting will focus on a proposed roundabout intersection at Camino del Prado and Richards Avenue.

Since the completion of the Phase 1B report in May 2022, the Santa Fe MPO requests that Public Works move forward into Phase C- Preliminary Design with a roundabout concept at the intersection of Camino del Prado and Richards Avenue. Because the City is following federal environmental guidelines for public involvement, and the Phase 1B report proposed a "Split-T" intersection concept at this location, the City hosted a virtual public information meeting on December 5, 2022, to solicit public comment on this proposed change from a Split-T to a roundabout at this location.

Detailed evaluation of preferred alternative  (phase B)
