Youth Afterschool Program 2025-26
Genoveva Chavez Community Center
August 18 to May 8
Ages 6-12
Sports, swimming, ice skating, social games, fun with food projects, arts and crafts, and more!
Transportation is available until vans reach maximum capacity. Transportation to the after-school program will be provided from the following locations:
- Amy Biehl Community School
- Pinon Elementary
- Carlos Gilbert Elementary
- Gonzales Community School
No children will be transported without prior payment and registration.
Registration Appointments Open Monday July 21 at 8:00am. Registration appointments are in person on Monday July 28 at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center 3221 Rodeo Road.
A registration appointment does not guarantee a spot in the program. We will register until the program reaches maximum capacity. Children will be added to the wait list once the program is full.
Bring one of the following for age verification: Birth Certificate, immunization records, or passport.

Summer Swim Lessons at Bicentennial Pool and Salvador Perez Pool

Registration Opens: May 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
Location: Bicentennial Pool (BC Pool)
Cost: $60 per session
All registration will take place at the BC Pool and will remain open during regular business hours while session space is available.

Use the skill descriptions to select the correct level for your child. If your child can confidently perform all skills in a level, please register them for the next level up.
Level 1A
Beginner lessons for ages 3 and 4
Skills: Water exploration, blowing bubbles, putting face and head in water, front and back float
Level 1B
Beginner lessons for age 5 and up
Skills: Water exploration, blowing bubbles, putting face and head in water, front and back float
Level 2
Intermediate lessons for age 5 and up
Skills: Front glide, back glide, treading water, jumping in, swimming to the side of the pool
Level 3
Advanced lessons for age 5 and up
Skills: Rhythmic breathing, elementary backstroke, front crawl, sit dives

Starts 4/7
Mondays: Depart from the GCCC
Wednesday and Friday: Depart from Fort. Marcy
Reservations are required 24 hours before the scheduled bike rides
