Reclaimed Water Data
E. coli is used as an indicator for other pathogens in reclaimed water. The data below is in Colony Forming Units (CFU) per 100 milliliters of reclaimed water. The E. coli tests are run at the Paseo Real Water Reclamation facility each day, and take 24 hours to complete, meaning the data below are typically two days old by the time they are loaded to the website.
For turf irrigation the maximum E. coli levels allowed by our permit are 126 CFU/100mL in any given day, or 63 CFU/100mL as a geometric monthly average. For discharge to the Santa Fe River the thresholds are higher, 410 CFU/100mL in any give day and 126 CFU/100mL as a geometric monthly average. (A geometric average gives less weight to outliers.) The table below shows both the daily value and the running monthly geometric average.
